BREWERY VISITS IN 2007

January visits were to the two sites of Jarrow Brewery, plus an impromptu one at Bull Lane in Sunderland and then a return visit to see progress at Ossett Brewery. In February a visit was made on the 10th to the Leyden Brewery in Lancashire. Saturday 24th March saw a visit to Fugelestou Ales at Fulstow near Louth, Lincolnshire moving on to Willy's Pub & Brewery at Cleethorpes not missing the World's smallest pub nearby, then Dark Tribe Brewery at East Butterwick near Scunthorpe. The April visits were the centre of Wakefield CAMRA's Easter in Belgium. On Saturday 4th May a visit was made to the Wear Valley Brewery in Bishop Auckland. The June trip took in one of England's remotest breweries, Hardknott, at the Woolpack Inn, Eskdale, just a mile from Laal Ratty, for rail fans.  Second call was at the Strands Hotel and (brand new) Brewery at Nether Wasdale. Return was via Prince of Wales, Foxfield. The July visits were to Fernandes at Wakefield plus the Ludlow Brewery and Bridgnorth Brewery in Shropshire. August saw a special visit to the Brown Cow Brewery at Barlow near Selby to celebrate their tenth anniversary. In September we were up the Colne Valley in "Where The Heart Is" territory at the Riverhead Brewery in Marsden. In October festival workers had a day in Shropshire visiting Offa's Dyke Brewery at Trefonen, Lion's Tail Brewery at Cheswardine near Market Drayton, Stonehouse Brewery at Stonehouse Weston near Oswestry and Dolphin Brewery in Shrewsbury. As part of a Metro Day Ramble, a good  bunch of local members came to the new Leeds Brewery in November.
