On the branch visit on Saturday 8th July 2006 the first thing most members learned was that there isn't a George Wright but two guys, Keith Wright and George Dove who started brewing in early 2003 with a 2 barrel plant from Wolf in Norfolk, then a 5 barrel plant sourced from Sean Tomlinson. Now they have a fully computer-controlled 25 barrel plant housed in a 7000 sq. ft building, but as members noted, they still have "soul". The wondrous hot pot and apple pie provided has also gone down in the branch annals.

At Merrie City 2006 were:

George Wright Rainford, Merseyside Pipe Dream 4.3 light and fruity ale with a hint of grapefruit which leaves a lingering malty dryness in the mouth
George Wright Rainford, Merseyside Cheeky Pheasant 4.7 a premium ale, perfectly balanced with full fruitiness of the malt and bitterness of the hop
It could be a bus garage from the outside, but the size of the building does mean that it affords secure storage for all the company's casks.
