A £5 deposit is required for bus trips. Principal pick-up points are South Kirkby Browns Coaches, Pontefract near Golden Ball and Wakefield Red Shed. When Northbound, pick-up and set-down in Leeds can be arranged. When Westbound pick-up and set-down just off the M62 can be arranged.

Club of the Year Presentation, Red Shed, Vicarage Street, Wakefield 19:30

Saturday 1st April

Branch visit to Pennine Brewing Co. which started in a small way at Batley in 2012, relocating to Well near Bedale in 2013, followed by early afternoon in Ripon (lunch?) and later, Harrogate. Bus departs Browns Coaches South Kirkby by arrangement, Pontefract 09:00, Wakefield 09:30. £4 charge for sampling 2 pints. Contact Mark Goodair to reserve places.

Thursday 6th April

Branch Meeting at the Bingley Arms, Horbury Bridge bus 231/2 starting around 20:00. Final opportunity to submit nominations for Spring Pub of the Season and to vote for the Tetley Dave Award.

Monday 10th April

Winter 2016/7 Pub of the Season, Robin Hood Altofts from 19:30 with presentation anticipated between 20:00 and 20:30

Thursday 27th April

Open Committee Meeting at The Blue Bell Hemsworth starting around 19:30

Friday 28th April-Mon 1st May

Barnsley CAMRA's 6th Elsecar Heritage Railway Beer Festival with the beer and cider tent, music stage and food stalls in the railway yard over the holiday weekend. Entry is free (you just need to pay a deposit on a glass on arrival) and it is open from 11:00-22:00 Fri-Sun and 11:00-19:00 Mon. The railway will be operating train rides during the daytime, buy a ticket from the shop on the station platform in the normal way. The heritage railway is about a 10 minute walk downhill from Northern Rail’s Elsecar Station, on the Sheffield-Barnsley-Leeds line .

Visit to Whippet Brewery near Elland Road Stadium, from 14:30 using public transport

Branch Meeting at Hamelsworde Brewery Tap, Kirkby Road, Hemsworth starting 19:30, voting for Spring Pub of the Season

Trip to the Fixed Wheel Brewery at Coventry

Doncaster Town Beer Festival at Unity House, Carr Lane, Hyde Park, Doncaster, DN4 5AA, Thu17:00-23:00, Fri & Sat11:00-23:00, over 50 beers plus cider and bottle bar. £2 admission for non-members, £2 refundable for festival glass. Special stopping arrangements by airport bus at Unity House at a special flat fare (departs Frenchgate Interchange), walking directions

Keep checking this page - we often get offers from brewers that we can't refuse, but at too short notice to get into the O to K Magazine.

For coach trips we ask for a £5 deposit , which is not normally refundable. It is usually also possible to pick up at Browns Coaches in South Kirkby, and en route for CAMRA Members from neighbouring branches where practical.
