Located in spacious modern industrial premises in Holbeck, the new Leeds Brewery has room within to expand.
All the brewing equipment is new and bepoke built in Dewsbury except for the conditioning tanks which were specially commissioned from Germany, where virtually seamless welding hugely reduces the risk of infections being harboured.
Leeds' Brewer Venkatesh Iyer is a brewing graduate from Herriot Watt University -  Sam Moss and Michael Brothwell are history graduates from York!
A view into the inspection port of the copper shows the route of the powerful gas burner, and of course the hops which this brewery certainly doesn't skimp on!

The mash tun and copper are in the main hall where the heat can escape. Temperature is carefully regulated in the fermentation room - kept up in cold weather so that the yeast works well, and mistily cold in the conditioning room.

Conditioning tanks for Leeds Pale, Leeds Best and Midnight Bell, which was selected by a strict blind tasting process as Top Yorkshire Mild at Merrie City 2007.
Wakefield CAMRA Chairman (left) presents a certificate to Leeds Brewery owners Michael Brothwell and Sam Moss, who worked for a time at York Brewery before deciding to start their own venture.
